More women than ever before are grabbing the reins and starting their own business. In 2015, the number of women-owned firms increased again. Women now own about 30 percent of U.S. businesses and employ nearly 8 million workers. Businesses owned by women provide one in seven jobs in privately-owned businesses, reports Womenable.com.
Entrepreneurship is great for so many reasons. From having more flexible work hours to being your own boss and everything in between, it's no wonder more and more people are starting their own businesses, especially women.
It’s not uncommon for women to face unique challenges, especially when trying to juggle traditional roles of wife and mother with the demands of starting and running a business. Over the years as a business owner myself, and through training women to run their own etiquette businesses, I have learned a few tips that may help women looking to start a business.
1. Success is all about hard work
No one succeeds by just thinking or daydreaming of something that they want to do. There is one thing that all the successful women have in common. All of them have achieved their success by working hard. If you really want to make it big and succeed in your business venture, you should be ready to give it your all and never complain.
2. Keep your home and work life separate.
It is important to set aside time for both personal and work lives, in order to give each the attention it deserves. Set specific office hours and unless there is an emergency, stick to them.
3. 3. Your Social Media Presence Matters.
There's no doubt that social media presence is important to a business's marketing strategy. "Whether it's Facebook, Twitter or even Pinterest, social media has proven to be a good conduit to business results, including sales leads, third-party endorsements.
1. 4. Utilize the Influence of Network
Power of networks is always underestimated the amount one can do with networks is phenomenal. And the network that is breeding in India nowadays is women corporate world..Joining industry groups is a good way to create a personal network of support. Professionals within these groups can provide a great sounding board for new ideas, frustrations and genuine dilemmas.
2. 5. Start business that fit with personal life
The key is to take the time early in the planning process to consider this question and decide for yourself what your ideal vision is for your business and your personal life. Small businesses can be pretty profitable, particularly if they target an untapped (or undertapped) niche. It's almost always possible to find profitable niche markets if you look carefully.
